Postcards from the Ionian: New Coastal Paintings on the Way

This week our artist Tony Parsons is in Greece, painting the Ionian islands. While autumn settles in here on the Sussex coast, he is out on the water's edge capturing turquoise bays, white cliffs and harbours in late-season light.

The Gillan Gallery is a small, independent online gallery based in East Sussex, on the clifftops between Brighton and Newhaven. We sell fine art prints of original paintings, most of them coastal, and every one starts life as a painting made by hand.

Coastal and Harbour Art Prints, from Sussex to the Mediterranean

If you are looking for coastal and harbour art prints in Great Britain, our collection is arranged by place, so you can find the stretch of coast that means something to you. Browse Sussex, Cornwall, Dorset, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands, alongside work from Greece and Italy.

Tony's paintings are not limited to British shores. He paints the sea wherever he finds it, and the new Ionian work will join our Greece collection once he is home and the paintings are ready.

Many of Tony's coastal scenes are painted on long 80 x 30cm canvases, so we offer them as panoramic prints that keep the full sweep of the horizon. Standard sizes run from A4 to A1.

Hand-Embellished Special Editions

For something truly one of a kind, choose a special edition. Each one is hand-embellished by the artist with his signature, the painting's title and a small original illustration, so no two are quite the same.

It turns a print into a personal piece, and it makes a lovely gift for someone who loves the sea.

Christmas Gifts with a Sea View

Our 2027 wall calendar has been finding its way into homes since launch. It features 12 of Tony's panoramic paintings, one for each month, printed at A3 for £27 plus P&P.
