Mont Orgueil Castle, Jersey
Mont Orgueil Castle has stood above Gorey harbour on Jersey's east coast for more than 800 years. It was built after King John lost Normandy in 1204, to guard the island against France, whose coast is visible across the water on a clear day. Tony Parsons, a Brighton-based plein air painter, painted it from the sea.
A lovely gift for anyone who has visited Gorey or has family ties to Jersey.
