Snowdrop Inn, Lewes
The Snowdrop Inn in South Street, Lewes, takes its name from the avalanche of 1836, when snow from the cliff above fell on the cottages that once stood here. It's still the deadliest avalanche recorded in Britain. This oil painting shows the pub's sunlit garden beneath the white chalk cliff and is by Brighton-based plein air painter Tony Parsons.
A lovely gift for Snowdrop regulars and anyone who loves Lewes.
