Brighton West Pier
Brighton's West Pier opened in 1866, designed by Eugenius Birch. It closed in 1975, and after storms and fires in 2003 only its iron skeleton still stands in the sea off the seafront. This oil painting is by Tony Parsons, a Brighton-based plein air painter who grew up in Woodingdean and has painted the pier's silhouette in every kind of light.
A lovely gift for anyone who remembers the West Pier or loves Brighton.
